SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS

This past fall the Sunday school children had a goal to raise as many pennies as their height to reach out to the needy.  The Heifer program was chosen to buy an animal for the less fortunate.  With all of the pennies and other donations the children were proud to announce they purchased a water buffalo.  Thank you to all that donated.  Every penny counts.

In November the workshop of “Isaiah” (Fulfilling the Prophecy) was completed.  Students learned about the Advent wreath and the promise that Isaiah had told the Hebrew people many, many years ago.  Jesus, the fulfillment of that promise, was God’s way of connecting hope, joy and peace to God’s people.
Thank you to the workshop leaders, Debbie Blazek, Joy Hicks, Beth Madigan, and Mary Schlader for their time and planning for preparing the Sunday lesson.

Sunday school in December is for preparation for the Children’s Christmas worship service on December 20 @ 9:00am.  This year a program is titled, “Christmas in Bethlehem”.  Practice Sundays are December 6 and 13 at 10:15-11:15am.  Saturday, December 19 at 10:00am – Noon will be the final practice.  Need your attendance.

December 26 no Sunday school will be held.

January 3 a new workshop will begin “People who made a difference”.  People of faith make a difference, and we will learn about Deborah, Jeremiah, centurion and the woman at the well. Learn that each one of us can make a difference. Adult study will be held again in the lounge with interesting topics every Sunday. All are welcome to join at 10:15 till 11:15 every Sunday morning
